In the afternoon of October 17, Mr. Grant Rodney Philpott, Chief Operating Officer of the European Patent Office (EPO), and Ms. Claudia Gaur, Core Client Manager of EPO, visited Liu, Shen & Associates accompanied by Mr. Chen Xin, Director of the Liaison Office of Zhongguancun in Munich, Mr. Zhao Yi, Deputy Director of the same Office, and Ms. Kang Xuan from Zhongguancun Federation of Social Organizations.  Ms. Ma Tao and Mr. Tao Fengbo, the managing partners, and other attorney representatives of Liu Shen participated in the meeting.

Ms. Ma Tao delivered a welcome speech to the visit of the EPO delegation.  Then, Mr. Tao Fengbo introduced the firm about its history, business scale, and talent training.

The two sides exchanged views on such topics as “trend and practice of the overseas application by the Chinese enterprises”, “accelerated prosecution channel beneficial for Chinese applicants”, and “examination trend and latest cases of software-related inventions at EPO”.

For a long time, Liu, Shen & Associates has actively participated in the international exchange and cooperation in the field of intellectual property and provided services to the IP globalization.  This meeting with EPO will further enhance the mutual understanding and trust between the two sides, and open up ideas for the firm to exploit the global IP market.
