Ms. Cao joined Liu, Shen & Associates in 2007 and became a qualified patent attorney in 2011. She specializes in patent prosecution, invalidation and re-examination, patent analysis on relevance and validation, patent search and client counseling with a focus on telecommunication, electronics, semiconductor devices, computer science as well as Internet & e-commerce.

Ms. Cao obtained her Ph.D. degree from Semiconductor Institute of ChineseAcademyofSciencesin 2007 majoring in pattern recognition and image processing, and before that, she had a bachelor's degree majoring in electronics and information system fromCentralChinaNormalUniversityin 2001 as an outstanding graduate of CCNU.

Ms. Cao works in the firm’s Electrical & Electronics Department. She gave presentations on “Internet Thoughts”, “Case Study on Issues about Amendments Going beyond Original Recording and Adding of New Claims” and “Response for the Inventiveness Issue” in the firm’s internal seminars.

Ms. Cao attended Summer School on IP in Europe organized by the Centre for International Intellectual Property Studies (CEIPI) inStrasbourginParisin July 2014.  

- Ms. Cao was awarded as one of the Excellent Agents given by SUMSUNG Semiconductor Dept. in 2015;

- Ms. Cao analyzed several commercial patents and communication standard essential patents (SEPs) to evaluate relevance degree of patents and validity of several patents against prior arts in a series of patent infringement disputes between a well-known domestic communication company and a multinational group;

- Ms. Cao served as one of main responsible attorneys for the invalidity and litigation for several patent infringement cases in a series of patent infringement disputes between a well-known domestic communication company and a multinational group, the patent right of one patent (Application No. 200880007435.1) among them was maintained representing the patentee;

- Ms. Cao provided legal advice and search related to infringement for an international renowned internet company.
