Dr. HUA joined Liu, Shen & Associates in 2016. Her practice includes patent drafting, patent prosecution and re-examination, infringement analysis, patent stability analysis, FTO (Freedom-To-Operate) opinions, patent mining and portfolio planning, due diligence assistance and patent contract consultation, etc.

Before joining Liu Shen, Dr. HUA worked as a Research Engineer at Brouard Consulting (France); in 2013, she obtained a Doctorate in Chemistry from the University Paris Sud (France); in 2010, she obtained a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering from Ecole Centrale Paris (France); in 2006-2008, she studied French language and culture in Alliance Francaise in Shanghai and the University of Tours (France); and, in 2006, she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering and Chemistry from the University of Petroleum, China.   

Dr. HUA is a qualified Patent Attorney and Attorney at Law in China. She has a technical background in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, and Biology. Her working languages are English, French, and Chinese.

Dr. HUA focuses on Patent Law, and has accumulated experiences in all aspects of patent related matters:

-     She has been in charge of hundreds of applications for patent drafting, prosecution, and re-examination, before the Chinese Patent Office, as well as foreign Patent Offices, like EP, US, JP, KR, etc.

-     She has accumulated experience in patent stability analysis, infringement analysis, and FTO (Freedom-To-Operate) opinions. For example, she has provided legal services to a Chinese petroleum company (Fortune 500) on its multiple projects.

-     She has engaged in long term collaboration with a global coating company (Fortune 500) in all aspects of patent related matters, and provides assistance in patent management.
