Liu Shen Team Takes In-depth Part in Asia Standard Essential Patent Summit and Invited to Host Roundtable Discussion

From April 15 to 16, 2025, IAM, a world-renowned intellectual property media, successfully held SEP Summit Asia 2025 in Hong Kong, China. The summit gathered hundreds of leading figures and professionals across the globe in the IP sector to discuss cutting-edge trends and core issues concerning standard essential patents (SEPs). YU Xiaoning, AN Zhifei and JIAO Shan, partners of Liu Shen & Associates, attended the summit as official representatives. They engaged extensively in various exchanges and in-depth discussions, and set up an on-site booth to interact actively with international peers, fully demonstrating the firm’s professional expertise and global influence in SEP-related legal services.

Partner Attorney JIAO Shan was invited to act as moderator for the roundtable session themed China’s licensing activity on the SEP stage. Together with distinguished guests, she led in-depth dialogues on the development landscape and challenges of SEP licensing practices in China. Key discussion topics included the influence of licensees in policy formulation, approaches for patent holders to monetize patent rights, mechanisms for determining SEP royalty rates, as well as disparities in licensing strategies between domestic and overseas patent holders. Participants also delivered forward-looking insights into the development trends and future prospects of SEP-related practices in China.
