Liu Shen Partner Attends AIPPI Thematic Seminar & Annual Conference of AIPPI China

The thematic seminar and annual conference of AIPPI China concluded successfully in Beijing on April 2–3, 2026. Hosted by AIPPI China, the event gathered authoritative IP experts and industry practitioners from home and abroad. Participants discussed how to improve relevant systems, optimize operational strategies and deepen cross-border cooperation, so as to enable intellectual property rights to serve as a solid foundation for stimulating innovation vitality, facilitating commercialization of R&D achievements and realizing value sharing, and contribute Chinese insights and solutions to global IP governance.

On the morning of April 2, Attorney SHAO Yali, Partner of Liu Shen & Associates and person-in-charge of the AIPPI research project entitled Divisional Applications and Double Patenting, presided over the outcome presentation session of the project. Starting with institutional divergences governing divisional applications and double patenting across jurisdictions, she clarified the core theme of the seminar, well regulated the discussion progress and integrated viewpoints from all participants. Under her guidance, project team members systematically sorted out relevant laws, regulations and practical practices concerning divisional applications and double patenting in China, and put forward constructive proposals on institutional coordination and optimization approaches.

As a core member of the research team, Attorney WU Ziqing delivered a special presentation focusing on policy considerations behind current Chinese laws and regulations in this regard, suggestions for institutional improvement, as well as feasible international coordination initiatives to be promoted at the AIPPI level.
